First G700 on U.S. Registry Enters Service with Avjet Global

The first U.S.-registered Gulfstream G700 has entered service, with Avjet Global and its customer taking delivery late last month. Avjet CEO Marc Foulkrod described the new aircraft as "magnificent," highlighting its quiet, comfortable cabin and impressive performance.

The G700: A Magnificent Business Jet

The Avjet customer's G700 features an 18-passenger cabin with a forward galley, a crew rest area, and a luxurious bedroom at the rear. The aircraft is equipped with Viasat Ka-band satcom, ensuring seamless connectivity for passengers.

"It's so quiet and comfortable, and the owner is really happy with it," said Foulkrod.

During one of the first trips with the new aircraft, the G700 proved its long-range capabilities on a flight outside the U.S. While a heating issue in the cockpit was noted, Foulkrod indicated that this would be resolved with a software update.

Unmatched Cabin Comfort and Technology

The G700 is designed to offer unmatched comfort and advanced technology:

  • Noise Levels: The forward club seating area is 3 to 4 dB quieter than the G650, according to Foulkrod.

  • Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 Engines: Provide a quiet yet powerful performance, with minimal engine noise during flight.

  • Fly-By-Wire Sidesticks: The new active control sidesticks, a Gulfstream innovation, offer intuitive and natural handling.

"Gulfstream scored a big win with that advancement. It's so intuitive and just natural," said Foulkrod.

Navigating Certification Challenges

Taking delivery of a newly developed business jet like the G700 is more complex than with an established model. Foulkrod noted that FAA engineers had to verify the aircraft's compliance with certification specifications and also fly the jet, which impacted the delivery schedule.

"That impacted some of our schedule," he said, "beyond the delays caused by the FAA imposing more stringent requirements on the program following Boeing's ongoing 737 Max issues."

A Strong Partnership with Gulfstream

Avjet worked closely with Gulfstream throughout the completions process, benefiting from a patient customer who had previously purchased over a dozen aircraft managed by Avjet. Foulkrod emphasized the importance of having oversight and knowledgeable staff involved in the process.

"It's essential to have people familiar with the process and all the constraints involved in business jet completions," he explained.

Foulkrod also praised Gulfstream's professional completion group and customer delivery associate Matt Trull, who was instrumental in ensuring a smooth delivery.

"Overall I can't commend Gulfstream enough on the fact they have a very professional completion group," he said.

A Game-Changing Aircraft

The G700 has been described as a game-changer in the business aviation world:

  • Performance: The aircraft works well and performs exceptionally.

  • Cabin Comfort: Its spacious, well-appointed cabin is truly stupendous.

"This airplane is a game changer, really phenomenal," Foulkrod said. "It works well, performs well, the cabin is stupendous, and our client raves about it. People that get them are going to be impressed."

With the first U.S.-registered Gulfstream G700 now in service, Avjet Global and its customer are poised to experience the best that modern business aviation has to offer.
